Why We Retire Our Designs (And the Story Behind the "Last Chance" Vault)

If you’ve ever stepped inside our Berkshire studio, you’ll know that space is a premium. Not just physical shelf space, but creative space.

As a team that has been designing stationery and games for over a decade, we fall in love with every single product we launch. But the honest truth of running a creative business is that to make room for something new, something old has to say goodbye.

Retiring a design isn't a sign that it didn’t work - it just means its chapter is closing to make way for the upcoming collections we’re working on right now.

What’s in the vault tonight?

When a design moves to our Last Chance to Buy Collection, it means exactly that: once the remaining stock is gone, it will not be reprinted. It effectively becomes a limited-edition piece of SD Studios history.

Right now, we are clearing the decks of a few specific favourites, including:

  • Our Vintage Racer Father’s Day Cards (perfect for June, but heading into retirement right after). Shop Now

  • Select Seasonal Stationery & Gift Packs (ideal for the ultra-organised shopper looking to score a discount). For example Autumn Quotes or Christmas Tags

If a particular pack of cards or gift has been sitting on your wish list, consider this your official heads-up. You'll be grabbing a bargain on premium, planet-friendly British design, and helping us clear the physical space we need for our next big launches.

A Note from our founder, Stacey

SD Studios started over 10 years ago with a simple belief: that a small, thoughtful gesture can be the highlight of someone’s day. Whether it’s a mindful quote to boost a friend’s morale or a game that sparks laughter around the dinner table, everything we create in our Wokingham studio is designed to foster genuine connection. Thank you for choosing a gift with a story, and for helping us spread a little more kindness, one card at a time.

- Stacey, SD Studios - Welcome to my passion project.
