Sustainability Matters: What is Carbon-Captured Paper?

At SD Studios, being kind to the planet is just as important to us as being kind to each other. When we started our Wokingham studio over a decade ago, we made a commitment to ensure our "little things" left a small footprint. One of the most frequent questions we get asked is: "What exactly is carbon-captured paper?"

In simple terms, it is a way of ensuring that the paper we use for our cards and games doesn't just come from sustainable forests, but actually helps actively protect the environment.

How it works: The CO2 emissions generated during the production and delivery of our paper are calculated and then "captured" by the Woodland Trust. This funding allows them to plant new native woodland right here in the UK. By using this paper, we are directly contributing to the creation of new habitats and the long-term removal of carbon from the atmosphere.

Why it matters to us: We know that our customers value quality. By choosing carbon-captured paper, we can provide you with a thick, premium matte finish that feels beautiful in the hand, without the environmental guilt. It means that every Fake News deck or Be Kind card you buy is part of a larger cycle of renewal.

Our Planet-Friendly Promise:

  • Made in England: We keep our supply chain short to reduce transport emissions.

  • Plastic-Free: We are constantly working to ensure our packaging is as sustainable as our products.

  • Native Woodlands: Your purchases help the Woodland Trust plant trees across the UK.

Thank you for helping us grow a greener future, one thoughtful gift at a time.
