Father’s Day is a day of celebration, but for many of us, it’s also a day of deep reflection. Our Father’s Day Cards at SD Studios are personal to us. It was born from a story of three men - a grandfather, a son, and a grandson - and the thread of love that connects them, even across the miles and the years.
The Trio Who Loved Cars
The inspiration for this range started with my husband and his dad. Life has a way of moving fast; eight years ago, we lost my father-in-law very suddenly. Since then, our lives have moved onwards - we’ve moved, married, and welcomed our wonderful son into the world.
As I watched my husband navigate the joys of being a new dad, I couldn't help but think of the "trio" that never quite got to sit in a room together. My father-in-law loved cars, a passion my husband shares, and one we already see sparking in our little boy. While they never got to share a garage or a racetrack together, I wanted to create something that captured that shared spirit.
A Touch of British Wildlife
To bring this vision to life, I blended that car energy with my own love for the British countryside. You’ll find badgers, foxes, and moles making an appearance. These cards aren't just about vehicles; they are about the characters we love and the adventures taken together - whether that’s a drive through the hills or a walk through the woods.
This collection is a tribute to the "Grandads" we miss, the "Dads" who are doing an incredible job, and the "Sons" who carry those legacies forward. It’s about celebrating the bond that remains, even when someone is no longer in the room.
A Little Light for the Journey
We know that Father’s Day can hold mixed emotions. If you are navigating this day while missing a father or a father-in-law, please know we are thinking of you. If you find yourself needing a little extra comfort or a quiet word of strength during this season, our Be Kind: Support & Grief cards are always available. They offer a gentle daily anchor for those days when the missing feels a little louder than usual.
Whether you're celebrating with a "Grandad" today or honouring a memory, we hope these cards help you express exactly what’s in your heart, or gives you the inspiration to make your own custom card.
